Our High School Playbook School of the Week is Bullitt Central!
Last week, Bullitt Central football made history by beating Doss 41-24 to improve the Cougars’ record to 6-0 for the first time ever.
It’s not bad for a program that won just three games in a season as recently as two years ago.
One of the reasons for the Cougars’ overnight success story is running back Jeremaie Bennett.
He gained 179 yards and had three touchdowns in last week’s win over the Dragons.
Bennett credited head coach Dan Leasor with making the Cougars believe they could finally be winners.
Another key player for Bullitt Central is quarterback Damion Wibbles. Wibbles ran and threw for almost 200 yards and two scores in the win over Doss.
Wibbles said there have been many life lessons learned in the Cougars’ success.
Next up for Bullitt Central is Anderson County in Shepherdsville Friday night.
Both clubs have 6-0 records. You can see the highlights Friday at 11:15 p.m. on High School Playbook.
