The Kentucky state baseball tournament begins Thursday in Lexington.
Just eight prep teams are left alive playing baseball in the Bluegrass headed for the Commonwealth's showcase single elimination event.
Two teams are alive from the Louisville area, Trinity and Bullitt East!
In Mt. Washington this spring, they had t-shirts printed with 82.4 printed on the backs. That's the mileage between Bullitt East and the state tournament in Lexington. Since then, the Chargers have won 30 of 38 games for head coach Jeff Bowles.
Now, they are just one loss away from their season being over and just three wins away from the program's first-ever state title!
Bullitt East opens the Kentucky state baseball tournament play in Lexington this Thursday afternoon against South Laurel. The championship game is Saturday at 7 p.m.
