It's the first full week of school for Jefferson County High School students and that means it's the first week for the new High School Playbook Football season.
Friday at 11:15 p.m. on WLKY we’ll have the return of High School Playbook and the 2009 season openers for many of this area’s high school football programs.
Every night at 5 p.m. leading up to Aug. 21, WLKY’s Fred Cowgill spotlights a different team.
Next up on Fred’s tour of the region is Manual.
The Crimsons have won four Kentucky state football championships and two national championships.
Manual had a 10-3 record last year.
The Crimsons open the 2009 season Friday hosting 18-time Kentucky state champ Highlands.
While their opening game is tough, Manual has a tougher game Sept. 4 visiting reigning state champion Trinity.
As if playing Highlands and Trinity weren't tough enough for the Crimson, they’ll also face St. X. on Oct. 16.
They end the season facing archrival Male on Oct. 30.
