FRANKLIN, Ind. (AP) -
Tyler Duncan of Columbus North, the medalist a year ago with a record 63 for the final 18 holes, is trying to become only the fourth player to win consecutive titles in the 72-year history of the Indiana high school boys golf tournament.
A total of 134 golfers from 49 schools made up the field for the first round scheduled to begin Tuesday morning at The Legends of Indiana Golf Course in Franklin. The field will be cut to the top nine teams and top nine individuals for the final round Wednesday. Any teams within 12 strokes or the lead and individuals within four strokes of the lead also will advance.
IHSAA sports information director Jason Wille said recent flooding may force officials to use supplemental holes for those that are too wet to play.
