The playoffs start Friday for in Kentucky high school football.

The Morehead State University School of the Week is one of the surprises of 2009.

Any conversation involving Shelby County football has to start with "the catch."

Quarterback Branden Cresap to Ben Axline for a circus catch. It rolled behind his head and down his shoulders for a 58-yard touchdown and a win over Nelson County.

That catch generated the most video hits in the history of WLKY’s High School Playbook and even made ESPN.com.

Axline's catch is indicative of the kind of season Shelby County experienced in 2009. Lots of things are going the Rockets’ way. Axline and Cresap are both back from injuries last year. With them, Shelby County's won eight of ten games. Without them last year, the Rockets lost 10 of 11.

It’s one of the most dramatic single season turnarounds in the 2009 Kentucky prep football season.

Shelby County starts the playoffs hosting Seneca.
