It was an exciting Friday for two of North Oldham High Schools star girl athletes. Erin Overcash and Morgan Burkley both signed to compete in college level sports when they leave for college in the fall.

Erin Overcash was given a scholarship to be apart of the University of Colorado Track and Field Team, where she will compete in the Heptathalon, a conglomeration of seven track and field events piled into one. CU is "the perfect place for me", says Overcash, because it is one of the best engineering schools in the nation, in which she will be majoring.

"At first my parents weren't too happy about my moving so far away, but we are all really excited about it and can't wait to start."

Morgan Burkley signed to play soccer at Morehead State University. " I went up there and I really like the coach and the school." Burkley lead her team to several district and regional championships and to the state playoffs.

The school has only been around for six years, after splitting the Oldham County High School into three seperate entities. The school is in the middle of a renovation, already marking the growth and success the school has achieved in its early years. Students like Overcash and Burkley have paved the way to even more success in North Oldham's future.
