 Cowboys butts drive me nutts!!!!!

The Kentucky prep girls basketball playoffs continue with the 6th and 7th region semifinals.

One game pits old rivals Sacred Heart and Assumption.

Sacred Heart, is our High School Playbook School of the Week!

The trophies stand as a silent testimony to the tradition of success at Sacred Heart Academy.

The school has come to help define a standard of excellence in girls prep sports in the Bluegrass.

The Valkyries have won multiple state championships in just about anything you want to talk about, but its basketball team remains the front page news.

This season Sacred Heart is back in the conversation for the Sweet 16 after a rare brief moment out of the spotlight in the pre-season.

Few expected Sacred Heart to get this far after losing so many valuable players to graduation last year.

By making the regional semifinals, the Valkyries have proven the critics wrong.

Sacred Heart made the most of their rare and brief time off the radar early this season, the young team grew up fast.

They have 24 wins in 28 games and are one of the few remaining girls teams playing in Kentucky.

The Valkyries' standards are high, reminded daily practicing under championship banners in the gym.

The athletic benchmark of success here at this school is, "Have you cut down the nets?"

 The Kentucky-Indiana All Star Basketball game

 On Tuesday, March 3, the Butler Bearettes and the Holy Cross Cougars met at Knight's Hall in aspirations of staying in the state tournament. The Bulter Bearettes beat Holy Cross 69-57.

 On Tuesday, March 3, Fairdale High School and Presentation Academy met at Knight Hall for a basketball game that would advance Fairdale to the next round of the state tournament. In the first half, Fairdale took the lead against the Toppers, 21-17. They pulled away for a victory with a final score, Fairdale 53, Presentation 43.

 I caught up with Austin's biggest fan, Taylor Eversole, and he discusses past season, and one ahead.

 On February 26, 2009, the varsity girl's basketball teams from Sacred Heart Academy and Ballard High School faced off at Waggener High School. In the first half, Sacred Heart took an early lead at 26-19. The Ballard Bruins battled their hardest, but in the end, it was Sacred Heart who took the win 59-36.

 On February 24, 2009, the varsity girl's basketball teams from Manual and Mercy face-off at Male High School. In the first half, the two teams battled for the win with a close game at 34-30 with Manual in the lead. In the end, however, the Manual Lady Crimsons took the win 70-54.

 South Central had lived and died on the outside shot so far this season, but against Borden, they decided to get the interior game going as well.  Things went the Lady Rebels way the entire first half, managing to keep Lady Brave standout Andrea Rademacher from beating them inside. 

Borden decided to make a charge at the beginning of the second half, as they began to hit outside shots, which also opened up their inside game.  Once they had the momentum going, they came back to tie the game.  It remained neck and neck the rest of the way, as South Centrals three guard tandem of Shelby Miller, Whitney Pease, and  Kirsten Kingsley managed to put the win away at the end.  Despite their hard fought efforts, Borden came up short, 57-54.
